THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT
Have a 1993 F150 5.0L on which I'm going to replace the throttle position sensor (TPS). The factory manual says to scribe the TPS and throttle body for alignment on re-installation. The TPS has two tabs and the throttle body has a flat shaft. Question is how does the scribe instruction play with a new TPS? Thanks

I just replaced mine. Its spring action I believe. If ita like the 4.9l just line it up pointing a little down and twist it up clockwise to line the bolts up

I did it with my throttle body on. Works fine

There is no need to scribe it since its not adjustable. Just swap in a new one and it will work fine.

If you didn't get a motorcraft TPS, I would check minimum closed voltage is meet, and minimum/maximum resistance is also meet
