I hooked up the electric leaf blower to the trommel today. It took three tries to find a position that worked decently. It's blowing stuff out for sure. There's less plant matter making it into the output bucket. But it's also blowing small rocks onto my lawn. And I need to wear hearing protection now.
Sometimes your best and initial idea is the one to go with. I thought your machine worked well but if plant matter (organic material) is the problem I'd introduce a high pressure water rinse prior to exiting the rotating assembly.

I haven't had anyone smoke me out when I'm driving my Leaf. On my prior Leaf I had a bumper sticker that said, "My other vehicle is a Powerstroke F-350". I need all the street cred I can get.

I did have a guy on a harley slow down in the left lane, about a car length behind me. Then he went WOT. I had my window down. What a jerk.

No, that would be handy. It would be easier to position/mount. I have to shoot the air in from the side. I can't put the blower under the trommel because dirt would fall on the blower. Putting the blower above the trommel would just blow the plant matter against the screen. Coming in from the side it loosens the plant matter from the rocks enough to let it blow out.

Do these trucks blow black smoke? I’m serious. My exhaust sorta smells like soap and I’ve never seen a hint of smoke.

I had two living under my sunroom back home. (I have pics Scag) During winter I'd throw french fries out in the snow, they would eat them like no tomorrow. Dog would shake like a wolf hunting seeing them looking out the sliding glass door.

The addition of water would make for a muddy mess. My catch basin (the kid's plastic sled) is long enough that it would get some of the water from the rinse. A rinse would sure make for cleaner rocks.

Mind doesn't. Not one bit. The exhaust tip is still clean after 21K miles. I can stand at the tailpipe and not smell diesel at all.

My dog goes crazy too when she sees them, barking and pacing back and forth. They will just stop and look, just like in the photo. Not the most attractive critters but I hear they are beneficial in some way.

Be careful. Rodney has already put out a warning about non-tech in a tech thread. If I was a moderator, I probably would have deleted the thread after the first post.
