Unhappy intkey could not program

Hey FTE,

I recently lost all my spare keys and was able to successfully program and cut a new key i ordered off ebay. Since then i have noticed the dash displays "intkey could not program" around the time i start my vehicle. it drives and starts. I haven't noticed any issues with driveability, etc.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge on what this message means/ how to resolve it? F150. 2013, STX 5.0 V8

It would help if you explicitly identified what you're working on since this isn't the vehicle in your signature.

Sounds like the convenience features of the IKT didn't program for whatever reason (compatibility, memory slots full, whatever). Does that one operate the keyless entry, panic, etc or not?

How many IKTs had previously been programmed into the system?

What procedure did you use to add the new unit?

Was the new unit a genuine or a knockoff unit?

There were two original keys, I made a copy before my trip and then lost one key. I made a copy after that, so i have three now and 4 were programmed to it. The additional keys were not from ford.

i programmed them by turning them on-off ignition with the other keys to program the new one. i programmed the button by doing that and then clicking the new key button. its been about a month since i did it, but i looked up the protocol from somewhere before and could probably find it if more details are needed.
