Sheared off top RR shock bolt....help!

I sheared off the threaded part of the top right rear shock bolt which now is inside the nut. The arm it was attached to seems to be welded to the frame. Does anyone know how to deal with this? Thanks in advance.

if its anything like what i experienced last night you might have to remove the gas tank to get some clearence if the shock you talking about in on the driver side.

No frachubb, fortunately it was on passenger side. I ground the four rivet heads off the bracket and drove them off the frame and then drove the rivets out of the bracket. Next ground off the mount from the bracket and drilled a hole in it. Bolted on a universal shock mount made by Help available at many parts stores. Bolted on formerly riveted bracket with four grade 8 bolts, lock washers and nuts....and now it's all back together. Should have used WD 40 on the original nut before trying to remove it. I sheared it with a hand ratchet! Anyway I'm glad the shock mount is available to fix the bracket. Ford said it they could locate a whole new bracket, which they couldn't, it would cost $90. The replacement mount was under $8.

Hey Frachubb, I just check the left rear upper shock mount and it can be replaced the same way as the right one, except on mine, there are only 3 rivets to deal with on the left frame rail, so no need to remove the gas tank, nor would doing so get you anywhere.
