Suspension question
Today while I was replacing my shocks I found that the front passenger side lower shock mount has sheared off the mounting plate that is above the spring pack.

Any idea if that part is welded to the spring pack or is it just being held there by the U bolts?

Here's the 4x4 frontend. You can see it bolts on.

My front end is a bit different on the 86 f250 HD. I'm running leaf springs and no coils.

Wow! That part is expensive. I wonder if the metal would weaken too much from welding. Anybody ever tried it?
