Gotta love those fixes that make a big difference. I have been not his site since 2003 and I cannot count even begin to figure out how much the members here have saved my hide... and a few others that I was able to help around here.
Congrats on that fix. Now you are making me think I should do the same!

I was actually going to do the shim kit as well, but I think its working so well i am just going to leave it alone before i break something LOL
I swear that is one of the biggest reasons I don't do some things in my truck unit lI absolutely have to. Although now that I have a new daily driver, it isn't so bad if the lol girl is down for a couple of days
Since you don't have to pull injectors to shim the tops, its a lot easier to do. Just don't drop anything.... be sure you have a magnetic probe.... and no not telling that story !

There's a fuel treatment cleaner that I wish I could remember the name of that some guys here had used in the past that helped to clean out the build up and get the rheostat clean so that it would work properly. It sounds to me as though maybe this is what is happening to you. If you look at the inside of the fuel filter housing, you'll see a black build up, well the same thing happens to the Rheostat inside the tank, It gets dirty and gives off false readings. I've attached a thread so that you can take a look at, this should help you to see what's happening in there. When this happened to my fuel gauge, the fuel additives didn't work for me. I ended up having to drop the fuel tank and take the Rheostat apart. I used parts cleaner to get it clean and this did it for me. If you do have to get into the rheostat to clean it, just make sure not to scrub it, If I recall scrubbing the rheostat can ruin it. Hopefully it's just dirty and not broken. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...success-2.html https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...s-learned.html

LOL i think i already know the story, it would be easier to lull the injectors to do the shim kit, but i think i am ok for now, I will make that call come winter if cold starts become an issue
Not having to plug it in is actually very nice, fires right up but it's nice and warm now
