Talking about ceramic, do these brake disc stop as good as semi metallic? I am in a push to change my back brakes, DRW, and got NAPA ultra premium rotors and brakes. Didn't mean to change the subject but just sat down for a minute till I go outside and start work. thank you,

Chet

Did you mean ceramic pads? Full ceramic brakes is racecar/supercar territory.

Ceramic disc, yes. That is what I got because they were both the same price. Didn't know if one was better then the other. They are NAPA ultra premium disc for our DRW back brakes. Both had the same warranty. Not much but the rotors limited life warranty. With leaving after Christmas for the dunes with grand kids and all, I really need to do these, didn't realize they were down so far. The back rotors at least one of them is original. The other I lost on a vacation Saturday night when a disc came apart, had it fixed Sunday in the hotel parking lot. That one seems fine but both sets of disc are way down. So I am changing everything. Almost a 1/4 million miles now so it is time. I need to work of the seats next. Parts house couldn't tell me one way or the other.

Ceramic pads SUCK on these trucks. Miserable stopping power.

EBC Yellowstuff pads provide the most stopping power you can get from these trucks.

Drilled, slotted and otherwise molested rotors do nothing to improve braking and many fail prematurely with cracks. Rotors are disposable. Just get lifetime warranty ones from Napa.

This thread has a bit of steering wander...

These are the 3 wires coming out of harness near ABS on driver side and near water reservoir on passenger side. I assume these trigger the headlights. Do I need to hook both of them up to the external harness or will one side do?

Driver Side

Driver Side + Ground

Passenger Side

Thanks for jumping in, unfortunately I did one side last night. Pulled it apart then found the E brakes really bad. I drove it away a few times without releasing them so that was my fault. Went and got them and did the one side before dark. I plan on doing the other side today. So with these DRW I am going to have to run with it for a while. I did get the NAPA life time rotors. Thanks Jason. If I had time I would of ordered the other Disc's.

@AUM , I misunderstood your question, my apologies.

See if this post taken from the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder helps you out. If not, one of us can get the Ford Service Manual going.

Awesome Sous, thanks, seemed to miss that in the tech folder.

Do both sides of headlight wiring need to be connected to the harness and relays? I´ve only got one power plug stemming from the harness I purchased on ebay.

Not in my experience. The connection to the OEM harness to the relay harness on my truck was accomplished on the passenger side. The two relays were installed next to the washer fluid fill port and the driver side wire was run under the tool tray/radiator cover.

That said, be sure that the driver side OEM harness wires are secured and safely covered up.

I can verify this works connecting the driver side to the relay harness as well. I have my F350 and Excursion done this way.

Thanks for the additional information. We can never have top much information or detail, especially when dealing with electrical wiring.
