2015 F250 XL 6.2L, 120k miles. Have had an intermittent problem with it not starting while in park. Sometimes, I can shift to neutral and it will start. However sometimes, I can not move it out of park to do that. It is locked in park and I have to pull the bypass on the shift lock solenoid in order to get it to neutral to start. I have already replaced the shift lock solenoid and the brake pedal switch. Still does the same. So two questions.
1. What else could this be and where would I find it.
2. Can I just remove the shift lock solenoid and forget it? I have no kids or grandkids around to worry about. Would rather fix it.. but if not.. might just remove this solenoid until I solve it as I need to keep using truck.
