I am thinking about investing in a shift controller, where it makes the 'firmness' of the shift firmer, and I was wondering if the TC lockup switch will mess with the controller when I lock up the TC or not. I would assume it wouldn't cause the shift controller shouldn't have anything to do with the TC, but I can be wrong, so let me know guys. Thanks much.
You assume correctly. The TC lock up switch just works independent of the computer. The computer will send signals to lock or unlock all it wants to but with the switch you are telling the TC what to do. If you forget to turn it off though when you are stopping it will kill your motor. To firm up the shifts you have to drop the VB and change out some springs. There has been a lot of posts on this.
Well you guys are a little off... I am talkign about a module that 'adjust' the firmness of the shift in the tranny. its called a Jet Performance Shift Commands and I am intrested in getting one, when I get the chance to get a shift kit and stuff. But would the TC lock up switch mess with that unit? I assume it wouldn't thank to old birds info. So thanks guys. Much appreciated.
