Anybody out here run any 5 Star Tuning on their 6.2 Im not looking for big power gains plan on staying basically stock at most might do a exhaust later on. Im mainly looking at better shifting better lock up on torque converter. If you have let me know what you think over stock.
i love the 5 star 89 octane econo tune. i do mostly under 40 mph driving, and it made a world of difference in the way the truck runs. faster upshifting, and faster torque converter lockup.
it works excellent when out on the road too. i get best mileage around 55-60 mph, which is my comfortable driving speed.
truck is a stock 2014 F250 4X4 supercab with 3.73 gears
I run the 87 octane tow tune. Big difference in transmission shifting up and down. Feels a like a little more torque on the bottom end and NO throttle lag.. When in tow / haul I lock out 6th gear and just go. 3.73's here. In the mountains I select to 3rd and let it eat. Mileage is on track with tjc. At 55-60 MPH I can get almost 16 MPG.

I bought the tuner and tunes today that’s exactly what I wanted to hear. I have 3.73 also truck has plenty of power but I hate how it shifts even in Manual mode the torque converter only locks up in 5-6 and only 60% of the time supposedly. Im looking forward to seeing what she got after I install the tune. Thats all Im looking for better shift patterns and lock up on the converter.
the very first thing you will notice is the instant throttle response. no more delay between stomping on the throttle and finally moving a second later. .

This plus just overall better driveablity. It puts the truck were it should have been from the factory. I have an '11 F250 and it bumps me up to around where the current HP / torque numbers are I think. I also have the 93 octane version of this tune. I just cannot justify running premium fuel for what I do at this time. Hope you enjoy!
I love mine, I just run 87 daily tow and the transmission shifts awesome now. Still have that weird stutter in reverse when towing but otherwise it's great.
Update I haven’t got to pull yet but loaded up the 87 daily tow tune. Let me just say 5 Star woke this truck up throttle response is unreal holds gears like it should. I can tell already it will be a vast difference once I do get to load her down.

Hate to tell you but, I told you so! Enjoy! What do you think about it? The best thing I have done to my truck.
To me, it makes the truck act like it should from the factory. The little extra power I get is nice though. It is almost worth the price for the transmission tuning alone IMHO. I won't drive a modern vehicle without a tune. Even my 2010 Mustang GT has one. Day and night for both of them.
