Any good welder started off a good grinder... This is what I tell guys when I'm teaching them and they complain about all the grinding. I say get better at it and you won't have to

@Sous ..you encounter same angle?
Dan..I know nothing of these turbos, but can't they be "clocked"
I did, but I made the angle work with the 5" boot cut down to 4". The boot that CSD sends is not suited for the angle at which the IC pipe lines up with the turbo, it is just too short to work properly. The longer boot allows for a secure and sealed connection. Since I installed the slightly longer boot over a year ago and thousands of miles of heavy towing, the boot has been great. I have had no leaks or blow offs. In my mind, this was a small price to pay for the kit going together quite well and the performance gains the truck received.
This boot is one of the main reasons why I updated my parts list thread the other day. The reseller I bought it from over a year ago stopped selling it, so I found the manufacturer and listed their website as well as a another reseller.
If I had the skills and tools that Dan posses, I may have taken the time and effort to correct the angle of the IC pipe a bit as he did. Although, I am glad to see that my lack of skill and tools has not bitten me in the *** and the turbo performs great.
I have to get on that. I hung the fenders last night, so I can now get to the header panel, headlights, grille. The windshield gets installed tomorrow...might have to adjust the doors a bit...and put the interior in.
The list is long my friend.....shorter than it was, but still plenty to do.
After reading others experiences, I am beginning to wonder if these pipes have improved over time, or are just all over the place. Mine lined up pretty good with a few adjustments.
The joint on my truck between the IC pipe and turbo was not off as much as Dan V's truck, but did not line up as well as Ridedan's truck. As Ridedan said though, the CSD boot was not going to work and I didn't even try it. Akcooper9 was the one that recommended the 5" boot to me and I don't know if he cut his down or not like I did.
Again, with the slightly longer boot the joint has been sealed and secure for many heavy towing long distance miles and over a year.
