Can we just talk??
-- I'm Greg, I'm 63. Wife and I are retired and live on Long Lake- near Harrison, Mi. We have a 71 Cutlass convertible, a 56? f100 and 2 driver cars.
My Mom in 1972!!
I'm game so I'll play along. I'm Philip, age 72, retired, and live in Tucson, AZ in Southern Arizona. I have 1948 F-1 hot rod project which people have seen posts about. The daily driver is a Dodge Journey. Our daughter and her family live about 6 miles away so we see the grand kids a lot. I also do a lot of woodworking with the current project to make a new router table.
My family originally came to Arizona from Michigan in 1951, so I'm a long time resident here. My wife is a rare native born Arizonan. I have lots of cousins and their kids in Michigan so I am quite familiar with the state, with some in Sebewaing and the others mostly around the Detroit area. Our pastor at our church was last stationed at a church in Warren, MI.
We live out on the edge of Tucson, in the county close to the mountains so we get lots of wildlife wandering around. In the last three years we had encounters with three Gila Monsters, the only poisonous lizard in the United States. We've seen deer wander through the neighborhood as well as javelina. Neighbor even reported a mountain lion in her yard eating rabbits. Son-in-law posted this picture of javelina in their neighborhood (inside the city limit), so yes these scroungers can get up close and personal. You should stay away as they can get dangerous.
To keep this thread and post about trucks here is a picture of my truck project. I've made more progress on the truck since this picture was taken.
O. K., who is next up to share a little about themselves?
Philip
I bought my truck in 1995 and drove it for about 5 years before parking it. After about 12 years of very slow progress I was able to drive it again.

John here, been around FTE since we used to scribble questions on parchment and carrier pigeon them to each other. 72 years old and have been retired from U.S.Steel for 15 years. Rolled my 53 off the trailer in 1995 and started a frame off.... I'm known in these parts as the do-over guru. Married to a very understanding and patient lady for 55 years and she continues to tolerate me (mostly) Truck should be showing up soon. Was trying for the Grand National show in May at Pigeon Forge this year but the Corona's got me slowed down... Might get it to upholstery man in April if the market picks up.
The site used to have a chat feature and for a time we had regular Saturday night sessions. I 'm guessing that doesnt exist anymore.
I'm Bobby, I'm 55 and have been a member of this site for quite some time now. I managed to find this site by stumbling upon one of the articles that jniolon had posted. The article was great and John has been a fantastic friend ever since.

I'm responsible for the air conditioning systems for the the PhD's working in the R&D facility and mice with humanized immune systems.
Luckily I can do my job from home. I can remotely monitor all the critical systems from the comfort of my recliner. I've been able to avoid driving my car and the 37 mile commute for two weeks. I can drive my truck the 3 miles to the grocery store. As long as I don't get sick and we can keep from overwhelming the hospitals (like Italy and Spain) it's not so bad.

There are several of us on here who are either recovering Mechanical Engineers or retired Mechanical Engineers, so thou art not alone in your affliction. That is a nice truck you have there.
Thank you for your work to help support those working to rid us of this virus affliction. Stay safe and I've found that over several trips to the grocery store over several days, little by little you can stock up on the stuff you need to survive without the stores, for a while that is.
