Luckily I can do my job from home. I can remotely monitor all the critical systems from the comfort of my recliner. I've been able to avoid driving my car and the 37 mile commute for two weeks. I can drive my truck the 3 miles to the grocery store. As long as I don't get sick and we can keep from overwhelming the hospitals (like Italy and Spain) it's not so bad.
I like your truck, Mike! Show us more, please.

Hi! I am Stu. I am really enjoying reading the stories and looking at the cool pictures! I am located in Mason City Iowa which is half way between Des Moines and Minneapolis. Not much to tell about me. I am 63, and after 18 years was offered a buy out at my last job as a Cell Tower Technician. I took the offer and since have had no luck finding follow up employment ( yep, no surprise there since I am over 60) so I am looking into just retiring. I have been married to my wonderful wife for 36 years and have three grown children, two sons and a daughter. The two boys live only about 5 minutes away and have given us 6 Grandkids. My daughter lives about 2 hours away. Here is a picture of our '56. I have had her for about 10 years already. Except for the seats and the drivetrain and power steering, she is pretty much original. I have always Loved these old Fords. When I was a kid in High School the Chevy guys were hot rodding the Tri-5's or the early 60 Impalas. And the Ford guys were rodding Mustangs, or these old Ford trucks. I always wanted one of my own and I was very Lucky to find one! One thing that I find really cool about this hobby though, is how much these old beasts are Loved by little kids!

Hi, Dan here. I'm 70 and retired last year after working as an accountant, most recently as a controller for a local construction company. I grew up in central New Jersey but have lived in Connecticut since getting married in 1972. We're still married, have 3 kids and 3 grandkids. I bought my first Model A when I was in high school. I currently have a '31 Model A I bought in 1989 and a '50 F-1 I bought in 2008. I hope to get the F-1 registered this spring, if the DMV ever reopens. Our property backs up on the floodplain for the Connecticut river south of Hartford. We see a lot of wildlife including deer, coyote, fox and recently bobcats. About 3 weeks ago I had an accident on my bicycle and ended up spending a night in the hospital with a concussion and a few cracked ribs. Fortunately, I managed to get out of there before the first Covid19 cases arrived. The had a death in the hospital from the virus last week. Let's hope we can all stay healthy and beat this thing soon.

The valve cover is supposed to be silver, the hub caps are supposed to be painted silver instead of chrome and the leaky oil bath air cleaner is long gone but almost everything else is pretty much stock. The poodle is only 3 years old but likes me working from home.

Great reading about all of you! I'm 69 and just now retiring after being a builder here for the last 40 years. Married to my love for coming on 45 years and we have owned our '49 F1 since we got married.
Lots of wildlife here and right now busy cleaning up from a wicked wind storm a few weeks ago. Lots of trees down.
We have a daughter, a nurse, son in law, college professor and 2 year old grandson who live in Massachusetts but soon to be Colorado Springs. Our son is an ASC certified diesel mechanic and daughter in law, a school teacher live in Bozeman Montana. Our son's daily driver is a '67 F100 that looks like an old farm truck but has a souped up 352 under the hood. Brian

Alright folks,

my name is Rico, I’m 46 years old, married since 2000 and father of two daughters (17 and 19 ys.). I’m a structural engineer and I’m running my own business with a companion and 10 employees. My daily driver car is a Mercedes GLC AMG 63. My vintage cars are a 1967 Ford Mustang convertible and - the reason why I’m here in this forum - a 1956 Ford F100. Oh, I almost forgot: I live in Germany, just 50 miles away from Cologne. That part of the country is called “Western forest - Westerwald”. Besides working on my cars I’m a cyclist.

Bob Jones, I live in Southeastern Wisconsin in the town of Jackson, just north of Milwaukee. Up until four years ago we lived on my wife's family dairy farm for over 28 years. My oldest son restarted the family dairy farm about six years and got married about four years ago, the reason we moved off the farm.

I've been on this site from almost the beginning before there was multiple pages, when we received a daily digest of what was posted. I think that was around 1996.

I've been a Fat Fendered Ford Truck fan since 1969 when my dad bought his 1949 F-2 use in his auto repair shop. It was a rusty wreck when he bought and after driving for a few years he left it sit on the side of the drive. In the early '80s I tore it apart once and then again in the late '80s.

I also have a '48 panel and a 48/52 F-4 and a '37 Buick. The panel is driveable but the F-4 and Buick are what I like to say half together.I

I've been married to my wife Michelle for 32 1/2 years and have two sons Charlie, 29 and Andy, 27. I own an industrial control panel shop, I build the boxes you see in factories with all the lights and switches.

I'm Bob, 68, 3 years retired, after 38 yrs in the Airlines. Originally a North Dakota farm kid. My Dad was a Ford Mechanic/Service Manager when I very young. He quit and took over the family farm when I was 10. We had a shop on the farm so my brother and I learned how to "wrench'" at an early age... (he's 10 times the mechanic I am) Been a car guy all my life ..
US Army 1970-72... Used GI bill and sold cars to pay for college.. Privileged to make a living doing what I love, all my life.. Still doing a little flight instruction..
Married to Kim for 20 years, 1 adopted Son from my first marriage and two Stepsons with Kim ... 3 fabulous, successful, family men.. and 6 awesome Grandkids...I am truly blessed!!
Bought my '53 F100 in 2016. Got it running and drove it for a year. Started fixing a little rust in 2017 and it got out of hand. Hope to have it back on the road this spring..
This Forum has been invaluable during my rebuild THANKS!!!
