I have contacted the seller. He has responded but I am still waiting on what our next step will be. I will contact him again and see if I can get another one coming.

Depending on how much stand-alone controllers are these days, be sure to at least check into the Stinger (vendor/member SPE here) to see if it has any advantages.
It's not inexpensive by any means, but if it also controls the transmission (which I believe it does) AND the engine it might save you some money in the long run.
You then can not only have your tuneable trans controller, but a tuneable engine control too for your down-the-road conversion to MAF if that's what you do. All without the old burned out capacitors!
Or even if left as SD it's probably got some advantages.

Don't want to over-sell it, since I have precious little information about it. But I'm excited that someone finally came out with a new, updated and manually-tuned Ford EEC computer.

The seller said he would swap it out if I sent it back. I may ask if he could send me one first so I won’t be without a truck while I am waiting. Or I may just wait til I go back offshore and send it then. It will be here by the time I get back. I just found Stinger ECU on google. I couldn’t find it on here. It is a total package engine management unit and it’s over $1000. I will probably get away from speed density but not sure I will go the MAF route. I may just go carb on this truck, so the US Shift quick 2 or 4 would more than likely be my choice. The 4 has more adjustability than the 2 but it is a little more. I think I could get the quick 4 with wiring for around $750.

Ok took a while but I have an update. The guy I bought the PSOM from sent mine back. He said he checked it out and said it is working properly. I know he at least did something because the ODO display is legible now. Put it in, and cleared out codes. No more code 452. Only code I have is 327(EGR stuff). Still shifts the same. But I have noticed something I hadn’t realized before. The harsh downshift (which takes place at about 25 on deceleration) only occurs when I have the OD on. If I turn it off it doesn’t downshift hard. Still pretty hard up shift 1-2 whether it’s on or off. Would anybody have any other suggestions? Would a stand alone shift controller fix this once and for all or could this be something inside the trans that I need to replace? I am once again at a loss.
