Can anyone point me towards a video or article/post about door linkage dissasembly/assembly. Getting doors stripped down to sandblast and paint. Have everything removed except door handle lock linkage and a little unsure. Don’t want to break stuff. Thanks. 1978 F250
You know the door lock key assembly is held in place by a slide tab. Go to the edge of the door, look for a 90* tab and just pull it. It's that simple. As far as the linkage most connections are held together by the plastic flip tab, like used on the tailgate rods. Un flip and remove rod end.
Look at the angled front edge of the door 3 phillips head screws. Remove. One bolt (below the regulator) that holds the very bottom of the division bar in place. Remove. Angle the vent window (it will be one piece) and the glass and the long division bar. You might have to work out/wiggle around the bracket at the very bottom of the division bar to get it out between the door skins.
Completely different question. How do you get the vent window out of the frame?
If you mean remove the vent window glass out of it’s frame, I just did that. I boiled water in a 7 quart Dutch oven and dipped the window and frame in until the adhesive softened enough for me to pry the glass out. I wore gloves to handle the hot window/frame.
