I am wondering if anyone has used Easy Chrome https://alsacorp.com/product/easy-chrome/ as a chrome alternative and more importantly used it to repair existing chrome. I have a nicely chromed grill that has a couple of 1/4" rusty blemishes that I was thinking about using Easy Chrome to repair or alternatively use clear JB Weld and a chrome flake cut to fit. Rechroming is not an option as nobody here does it and it would be prohibitively expensive. Any advice would be appreciated.
I would be interested in the results . My current paint plan is for a HOK candy basecoat and was considering doing the grille in a chrome type base instead of the black I will be using on the rest .
A while back there was a long post on the HAMB by a guy experimenting with a DIY spraying on chrome like product. It was basically the procedure used for applying silvering to mirrors. He was experimenting with different ways to apply and protect the product. There were other posts about the commercial product out there being offered by different franchised operations. Seems like all didn't last when exposed to the elements, especially basic road hazards like stones and bugs. It might work OK on interior trim items where there's better protection. Still none seemed to be as good as actual chrome.

Abe, that emblem is crooked! I was trying like heck with my mouse pointer to nudge it to the left a little, but it wouldn't budge. Might want to straighten it before Wade's next calendar shoot.
On the topic of the thread, I'm following this closely since the chroming shops have all but disappeared in this area.
Hmmm, I never noticed that... or maybe it's the angle of the camera. I'll check it out when I get my truck out of storage April 5. And with the progress I'm making with my shoulder, I'll be able to drive it home myself.
