So lately I've been having issues with my cabin air not blowing strong, I also noticed a slight voltage drop when I turn the fan on from off to full which led me to believe that the blower motor is worn out. I later changed the blower motor and replaced the gasket with minimal effect on my problem. I also pulled the engine cowl off to see if any leaves was blowing my air inlet, no leaves nothing seeming to block the inlet. I'm at a bit of a dead end now and not sure what else might be the cause of my issue, anyone else can suggest something I might have missed?
Well you're the lucky one with nothing in the cowl area! That's a common problem.
Is the fan not blowing hard, or is the air just not getting through? If the motor is slow, it could be a switch, wiring, or resistor issue. What year is your truck? Not sure if the newest ones still used a physical resistor, or did it somehow electronically.
If the blower is sounding weak and slow, you might check voltage at the heater motor wire to see if it's getting it's fair share. Should be the full 12v when on high, with less for each setting below that.
I'm sure things like the control switch can fail too, but I've never had that happen so don't really have any experience with it.
Good luck. Sorry I was no help. I'm sure someone here has dealt with it before though.
Truck is a 1993 F250. I ran the blower motor outside the truck and it seems to blow strong, not sure how strong it should be But checking that voltage seems like a good way to start, if not it could be the plumbing from the fan to the cab maybe.
