blower motor??????

Question blower motor??????

1991 f-250 7.3

the heat/ac fan motor will only work on high.
do i need to replace the blower motor or is it the control switch?

There is a resistor that is mounted in the heater air box.

Not sure where it is located on the 91 model, but that resistor is what gives you the lower fan speeds.

Check in the engine compartment on the front of the plenum chamber, between fan and A/C....

The fan gets power........the other thing on that power line is the resistor screwed to the plenum.....

A 4 wire plug is to the center of the truck by the blower motor, unplug, take out 2 screws and there in your hand is the resistor. If that does not fix it the switch is bad. There are 2 resistors available, the difference is the thermal protector, I have used whichever is available and there is no difference in operation. my 2 c

The location and part number was the same for my 93 and my 88. The resistors need the air from the blow to keep cool or they will burn out. If you go to Carquest or whereever hope you know the parts guy the part is around 30 bucks list.
