Whats a reasonable price ? I only want the bed and would have to part out or sell the rest , it is a 79 f150 short bed 2wd has a 351m , fmx tranny,,but he doesnt have it licensed and unsure how road worthy as its only beed lot driven,,I have not seen it in person yet . Here is his description ,,1979 Ford f100, short bed, power steering, power brakes, FMX automatic transmission, 9 inch rear end with 2.75 gears. Truck runs and drives, has been painted at some point, and has had floor pans put in by previous owner. Carburetor has been rebuilt, new fuel pump, fuel filter, rotor button, and fresh oil change. 2900 cash obo. It’s an original 302 truck with a 351m swapped into it. Truck had air conditioning from the factory.
I think the price is pretty close to right, maybe even a deal.
If you only want the bed, I'd throw your old bed onto it and try to sell it as a project.
I think you should keep it and put your bedsides on it because you've backhalved it and turned it into a Pro Street truck with a Crown Vic front end and air bags on all 4 corners....
It depends on your area. In my area, if one had to get rid of it within a month, tough sale for sure...maybe get 5 to 6 hundred. I would start at 8 hundred and see where it goes. In other areas who knows ? I can only speak for my economically depressed rust belt area.

Mark, are you really saying $800 for the whole truck or just the bed? If you are talking whole truck I think you should pass the pipe. 😂
I would think that is a very fair price anywhere. I personally would be thrilled to haul or drive it home for say,$2500 ! A fixable 40 year old rig is worth that in my estimation. The next 10 you look at in that price range won't be worth loading on a trailer but the seller will still be asking that amount !

I am waiting for the seller to get with me, since its not got tags but has title an hasn't been on road for awhile I offered $2600 delivered to me,,he is trying to work that out , I am going to pull bed and put my old bed back on it although I have cut most of floor out of it , then see if I can resell and try and maybe get most money back,,if that doesn't work then I will part it out , its got a solid tail gate that I can sell for sure and front grill shell and motor an tranny will bring a lot back in cash and doors are supposedly solid so they have value , I would hate to part it out but will to recoup the money, might even break even an get what I need for nothing if I am lucky
Reminds me of how I got my truck. The PO bought the truck just to use the short bed, but after he got it home and looked it over he thought it was overall too nice to start taking parts off, so he sold it to me.
