Moved quite awhile ago and had to sell the 68 Highboy as there was no room for one in a two bedroom apt, let alone space to work on it.....
Recently found and purchased a '78 F150 w/ a 300 L6 that my sons and I are starting to restore......... Gonna' be a LOT of work but it's been fun so far....
In the past, y'all have been a plethora of information and instruction and I don't predict that will change....... Thanx' for bein' here and all that y'all do!!! If there's some way I (we) can add to the FTE 'Fam, we shall do our best to do so.........
Thank you again...................and in advance (as I'm sure we'll have Plenty to as those "In the know"...... !!!

Will post soon as I take some......
First order of business is drop the tanks and replace.....I can't believe how Much Rust they were allowed to accumulate ?!? I had to "back-woods" the truck just to get it the 90 miles home....lol
I'm not sure how deep we're gonna' get into it, but the more I look, the more I find...........and if we do it Now, we won't have to do it later.....!!!

Yep, that very statement is what got me into a full blown cab off restoration.
Do it right!
........it sat in a field with virtually NO fuel in the tanks for Quite some time....... Both the tanks are rusted beyond repair, so much so that they clog the pre-filter at idle and choke out the engine.
That being said, we're in the process of "rubberizing" a new midriff tank and replacing the fuel lines. Since that will be off, I'd venture to guess the rear tank and lines shall be dealt with..........aaaaaaannnnndddd the underside of the bed and frame may just happen to have new Graphite undercoating installed.......?!?!?
I seem to remember that truck being in SE Portland for sale for awhile. Is that where you got it from?
No sir, I found it in Cottage Grove. "Rancher" brought it over from Idaho a few years back, hurt himself in the field (twice) and decided he wasn't gonna' do anything with it........
Indeed it is....!!!
Praise the Lord for that..... !!! I lived in PDX (NE & SE) for a few years after my first enlistment. Wasn't too bad then.....but I could NOT even begin to live there now...........!!! LOL
