Mornin all. I installed the Vintage Air for my 66 F100. Not happy with the glove box **** fix that came with the kit since the lid springs won't work now. Those with VA installed, what did you do to open and close the glove box lid. I want to keep the original **** of course. I can rig up something, but, curious what others have done. TIA, Al
There are some stainless steel magnetic cabinet latches on Amazon for $6 to $12 bucks, look like they would work. Mount to the top inside of the glove box, put a thin piece of felt over the magnet so it doesn't "Clank" when closed?
Good ideas, didn't want to drill thru the fresh paint. But, gave me a thought on some adhesive backed magnetic strips. Didn't want to go the velcro route. Thanks.
They are super strong and you can get a variety of sizes. A little bit of epoxy too keep them in place and they will hold it shut. You can put felt over them as well. A lot of custom car audio builders are using them as fasteners for panels and they work awesome. I have some that should work. Let me verify tonight and if so, I'll send them to you.
Swamp, I agree. For the quality of the rest of the VA system, it is a POS glove box latch. I'm going this way. I have a old strip of adhesive magnet around here someplace.
JJ: Thanks for the offer. I do have a roll of adhesive strip magnet around here someplace, I'll be looking tonight. If it don't work out, we do have a Harbor Freight close to my work.

no problem. If you change your mind, they are yours for the taking. These are what I have that work beautifully. Sorry the pics are sideways.
AlsRyd66 question if you don’t mind since you installed your own VA. I need to pull my original radio out and my question is if I drop the VA center plenum can I drop the radio down out the bottom of the dash?
is it just the vent tubes and plastic?
