I would really like to improve the air flow into my engine. I have debated back and forth between getting an actual intake kit from K&N or just getting the K&N filter and doing my own modifying of the air box. I would love to hear thoughts and feelings on the issue for a 95 F150.
The other thing I need to know is how to go about making the modifications on an air box of that year. I have seen many on later models but none on that particular model.
Thank you both!
I have another question: the main purpose of an air box mod is to open up the air flow- correct? with that being the case does is matter how or where you choose to do it? if i am going to cut part of the air box is there a certain part of it i dont want to modify? does it matter where i pull the air in from? i just dont want to do anything that would do more harm than good.
thanks again. very helpful!
If the 95 still has that snorkle looking intake tube, see if you can find one at a junk-yard from an F-250. They have one that goes to the left side of the radiator and it is supposed to have less restriction. Plus, it moves that tube down and out of the way. Its worth the $5 or less.
haha. you guys should see my setup! My 302's ram air now. K&N CAI modified and routed right beside the fan shroud where the f250 intake tube goes. She works well and sounds hella good. I'll take some pics soon.
