Hi friends. My truck sat a couple weeks and now it won't fire up like it normally would. Also, leaking gas from the bottom of the carb. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
PS - The last time I ran the truck my 3 year old closed the manual choke and it took me awhile to realize that was why I couldn't get it to start. Fear that did some sort of damage to the carb. ???
It would help if we knew what motor / carb we are working with to better help you.
Are you sure the gas is leaking out the bottom of the carb?
A choke pulled or stuck on will not hurt the carb but will flood the engine and could foul the plugs to the point of not starting.

Stuck float. Corroded float pivot, float full of fuel, dirt in the seat. Electric fuel pump? If so, maybe needs a regulator. Manual choke...sometimes we learn the hard way to check its position.

It "might" help to know year, engine, and carburetor involved. It doesn't seem like it should have done permanent damage to the carburetor, but it definitely would have flooded the engine and prevented it from starting. You might want to remove one spark plug and see what it looks like. Give us a bit more information and perhaps we can do better.
It's a 1973 F100, 360(not sure) with a Holley 2B. Hit the carb with a rubber mallet. Started right up. Thanks for the tip! Now it is still leaking gas and leaks more gas with throttle. Guessing I need to pull it and rebuild.
You took the video a little to close& short to see what carb but it looks to be a Holley and it looks to be the accel pump leaking.
I would say get a rebuild kit for it and pull it a part give it a good cleaning and new gaskets.
The gaskets dry out from sitting and to fix yours you would need the accel pump and a bowl gasket.
