Ive just installed a holley 4180 w/ an edelbrock performer 400 intake on my 79 bronco. i drove it all day yesterday and it ran great. I started it up this morning and it bogged down when i hit the gas. It also decided to backfire out the exhaust and carb
First, how would i tune the carb?
Second, what would cause it to backfire?
i let it warm up for about 15 mins. then went to leave and i hit the gas and it backfired and bogged. i let it sit for awhile and the same thing keeps happening.
After it gets up to temp, blip the gas to get the carb off of the high idle. Then pop the lid on the air cleaner and verify that the choke butterly is open all of the way.
Also, is this a new carb or,..... rebuilt? Do you know it's history? In other words is this a known good working carb?
Check and make sure that the accel pump linkage is adjusted correctly.
