HELP!!! Holley 4180

Ive just installed a holley 4180 w/ an edelbrock performer 400 intake on my 79 bronco. i drove it all day yesterday and it ran great. I started it up this morning and it bogged down when i hit the gas. It also decided to backfire out the exhaust and carb

First, how would i tune the carb?
Second, what would cause it to backfire?

Ok,

Did it do this bogging down and backfiring when you first cranked it up?

Did it stop after the engine warmed up?

If "yes" then I would look at the choke. When cold the choke may be closed too far.

Ok,

After it gets up to temp, blip the gas to get the carb off of the high idle. Then pop the lid on the air cleaner and verify that the choke butterly is open all of the way.

Also, is this a new carb or,..... rebuilt? Do you know it's history? In other words is this a known good working carb?

Check and make sure that the accel pump linkage is adjusted correctly.

You might have gotten some dirt in the inlet valve. This will cause flooding, high float level.
