With flat glass you get reflections from the back glass to the windshield. On a dark country road you'll get the reflection of the lit speedometer on to the windshield. Also, with flat glass you get all kinds of strange reflections. I've had the headlights coming at me reflect off my back window to my windshield to make it look like there are more than one car coming toward me. My '37 Buick had a pull down shade in the back window. I thought it was there to offer some privacy but was later told it was there to stop the oncoming lights reflection back onto the windshield.
And our seats can fit 3 working men, of 50's stature, in comfort. And with the remote shifted the middle man won't feel assaulted!
For a while in the early '70s my parents must have a bit down on their luck and we had to use the F-2 as our only form of family conveyance. Dad drove, I must have sat on my older brother's lap in the middle (I remember having to shift if my dad had to back up) and younger sister sat on my mom's lap. Wasn't too bad in the cold of winter but we must have gotten another car before the summer heat.
