I think you only have so many months to use them before they expire. If you bought the truck a year ago, they may have expired. I used all of my points buying fuel filters as I would eventually need them and I did not want to let my points expire.
Its 12 months of no activity. Activity isnt just redeeming the points, you can have service done, or purchase parts from the dealer. That adds points and counts as activity. It's funny, the parts I bought with some points, added points back on based on the $ amount of the parts.
I was talking to my local Lincoln dealer yesterday, and they told me they are just getting ready to use the Lincoln version of the points. They told me they didn't know if or when they'd be able to process the Ford points. It sucks for me because the local Ford dealer are D bags.
Ok so I need to go to the Ford dealership and get something at the parts department and tell them my vin number for my 2019 and tell them to use my FordPass rewards.
Even though I bought the truck a little less than a year ago.
I also need to check this issue with a pull under hard breaking before 12 months/12k miles. Need to get it to the dealer.
No, you need to go to the service department. They write up a ticket under service to order the part and if the dealership has the part in stock, you go pick it up in the parts department. They asked me for the last 5 numbers of the VIN and the email I used to set up the account. Go into the service department and tell them you would like to use your FordPass points to order something and good luck finding someone in service that is familiar with the process. The few dealerships I have been to seem to have one person that does this and the other service reps won’t have a clue.
Exactly what SARDriverDan said. I called a couple dealers and each one said I couldn't use points for accessories, only maintenance. I finally got to a guy at my dealer that knew the process.
Over the phone he looked my account up, ordered the part and had it delivered that afternoon. It was the black molded Hood deflector (HC3Z-16C900-C).
He said I could only use $100 worth of points (20,000) towards the deflector. The charged full retail + tax so my out of pocket was $96.xx.
Additionally, I was awarded an additional 1799 points for a service visit that never actually happened. I'm now at 56799 points. I'm good with that.
Do not take no for an answer when attempting to use points for accessory purchasing.
In regards to limit on points per visit. I was also told by a few dealerships that I could only use 100 dollars worth of points. I called FordPass and they told me the dealership can not limit the amount of points used and told me to go back and use as many points as I wanted. They also told me that if the dealership had an issue, I was to call FordPass back and they would talk to the dealership.
The only other word of caution would be to check the prices at different dealerships. As an example, I used points for a fuel filter at a dealership in Temecula and they charged me 101 dollars while the dealership in Hemet charged me 68 dollars for the same part. The sad thing is, they are under the same owner and each dealership is telling me that their price is right and the other dealership is wrong.
I agree with you SARDriverDan, I didn't call FordPass to ask about points limit(s). I was just happy someone could actually help me and I will definitely will use this tactic in the future and shop around for prices. I do try to use my home dealer if possible though, that could be a curse.
I purchased my 19’ diesel in February 2019 and I show 0 points. I called ford pass and they are saying that the rewards program started in April 2019 and I am no eligible for points program.

So if I understand this correctly, you can negotiate the price first, and then apply number of points corresponding to actual dollar amount? That would make sense, but one dealer I called told me rewards points equal MSRP no discounts allowed. Another dealer said they'll do 10% off all accessories, but had no idea how to purchase with points.
I did not negotiate price, these were just the cost difference between two dealerships. If you plan on using your points, call the parts department and ask them what they charge for the part. Now call another nearby dealership and ask them what they charge for the part. If the price is close or the same it won’t matter what dealership you select. In my case, the same part was a 30 dollar difference from each dealership so if I would have known, I would have used my points at the dealership with the lower price. I assumed that the same dealer in two locations would sell for the same price but they don’t in this case.
