FordPass Rewards

Last Friday I took my new 2019 SD to my dealer to get its first oil change and tire rotation. All went well until I went to pay for the services rendered. I attempted to pay with my FordPass points as I have 75,000 from my new truck purchase this summer. The cashier said I had no points to redeem. As far as she could see is that I had not “accepted the terms” in FordPass. I called a representative from FordPass and he stated I should have had no issues in redeeming those points. The lady at the cashier station seemed rude and acted like she didn’t care. Do any of you use FordPass points? Has this happened to you?

To all, what dealers have you been able to use the Ford Pass rewards to buy parts in Washington State?

I have only used points for 1 purchase so far, no problem at all. Did you show them your points on FordPass? You wouldn't normally have to show anything, but in that case maybe it would help.

That's what I was thinking. Open the app and show them the points, it's not like you could forge that. If you get the continued treatment from that employee I'd be speaking to someone over her head.
When I bought my truck back in September the salesman had me open up the app and make sure I was all set before I left the dealer's building. It took a few days for the points to show up on the app, but he had me all prepped for it.

I haven't tried yet. Going to stop by Mulinex in Olympia tomorrow. Our company has a fleet program with them. I have read that some are having trouble getting parts with the reward points because it reads "complimentary maintenance". I will post my findings tomorrow.

Yes I did show my points on my smartphone but it didn’t show up on their computer.

Then someone at this dealer should have put a call into Ford to find out what happened instead of giving you a hard time. Like I said, you can't exactly forge this on your phone and I'd have been looking around for the GM.

I agree. I will be contacting the manger of the service department about this. Hopefully he will get this cleared up for me.

I called my dealer, talked to parts dept. He said using points is no problem in parts dept. He just couldn't tell me how much they are worth.

Last week I was having a recall looked at on my truck and while there, went to the parts department to see if I could use my FordPass points to purchase parts. He said, yes you can, and explained the process like this, he will print out a quote of the part you want to purchase with your points, then you take that to the service department who will process the payment with your FordPass points, you then take the paid receipt to the parts department again and they order the part. He said that only the service department has the ability to process the FordPass points. I spoke with the service department person and, if I remember correctly, she said that the FordPass points are worth .005 cents, so my $168 part would cost me 33,600 points.

I had the same the problem. I called Ford and they said the points are there, it's some kind of problem with the app. He said he couldn't see his points on the app either, even though the computer shows them available.
