So I got a 2002 f250 7.3 and have never had fobs for it since I bought it used. I have tried to put my truck in program mode for around 30 min today. Directions are clear and easy to read in my user manual.
no matter what it will not enter programming mode:
gone over all the other posts concerning this issue.
is it possible my hydra is keeping my truck from entering fob reprogram mode??
im not interested in having the process for programming fobs rewritten here. It’s a simple process and I’m far from the first person to run into this problem.
If it won't enter programming mode, then the issue is either:
1. Not equipped with RKE feature or
2. The RKE feature has failed or its function is being inhibited.
Have you verified whether or not there is a VSM installed? No point in trying to program a fob if the truck was never equipped for them.
ok. Thanks for the info. I had read in another thread that keyless entry was standard on ford vehicles by this point (2002). Its a XLT so by no mean the lowest model. I’ll check for a VSM.
Why don't you look and see if the VSM is even present in your truck first before worrying about what Forscan might be able to do?
Pull the small panel with the trash bag hook off an look back in there above the gas pedal. Find a YouTube video about how to locate the door pad code, it will guide you to seeing if the module is present or not.
