Sucky headlights

Hello everybody, like the title says I’d like some better lights on my Ex. First here’s a little back story. Sorry this might be long. Lol
When I first bought my Ex used it had really bright aftermarket lights that somebody added. The lenses were different almost blacked out I would say. The bulbs were glued into the modified lenses and the wiring was all hacked up. Also they didn’t have a bright/dim option so I removed all that junk and went back to stock. I picked up some stock style (aftermarket) lenses and Sylvania silver star bulbs. I also had to replace the bulb pigtails because they were hacked up when the high intensity kit was installed. Since I’ve returned it all to stock I haven’t been very impressed with them. To me they are about half as bright as my 2013 super duty or my wife’s Yukon.
Now finally my questions. Is there a direct replacement bulb (maybe LED) that is worth the money to install?
What else would my options be? I’m not against a kit that would make them brighter but I’m not cutting the lenses to install them and they definitely would need a high/low option. Oh and before I forget I’ve adjusted them lots and nothing seems to help. It just seems like a real lame yellow ish light. Thanks in advance

Has anybody tried the Hella Optilux bulbs? Looks like you can get them up to 100watts.

I have these in my Excursion and they are AMAZING! They are so bright, the high beams probably light up the road 1/4 mile down, on lows they have a great pattern, good coverage and project way better than anything else I have tried. I can't believe how good they are!

Also have the same brand in my Expedition and Trailblazer and are equally impressed.

I like the idea of LED headlights. They should take less power also. Thanks.

I have also been running the LED bulbs in both trucks and really like them. So much better natural white light. The Excursion has the stock type clear aftermarket lenses like the 2003's had and I upgraded my F350 to the 05 Harley style lenses. Not a big difference between the two.

Is there a list somewhere that shows which Excursions these fit? I have a 2005.

if you have a single bulb headlight it's a 9007, if you have separate highs and lows its 9005/9006. Excursions have 9007 bulbs.

He has a 2005 and though those are also a one bulb only unit, they do take a different bulb...9008 I believe.
