I have mine in my hands for install tomorrow. The instructions aren't the best so a couple of questions:
Are both lamp assemblies the same or is there a left and right?
Does the LED orientation matter? - the instructions say it does for everything but the H13's
Thanks![/QUOTE
I believe they are the same left and right but they have to be clocked right. If I remember right the instructions have a picture. If you put them in upside down your brights and dims won’t work right.
I installed these in my EX and they are fantastic! Thank you for posting these.
One issue I'v run into that I'm hoping to get some help on though. When I turn on the fog lights, my brights come on and the indicator in the dash comes on faintly. I'm guessing I need to add a resistor the high beam circuit but wanted to see if anyone else has run into this. The previous LEDs I had installed did the same. I will say light output is fantastic with high/low and fogs on at the same time!

Yep mine do this too. I’m running a LED light bar for my fog lights so I thought maybe that had something to do with it but I guess not if yours is doing the same thing. Wonder if it will hurt anything? I don’t mind if my brights come on personally I just don’t want to damage anything.
Looks like Ford backfeeds the fog light relay coil with power from the high beams when high beams are selected this is how they accomplish no fog lights with high beams under normal operation. There must be something in the LED drivers with these new headlights that is causing the high beams to come on with the fog light . I am going to do the "bambi" mod to mine which will allow the fog lights to come on with both high and low beams.
Looks like the "bambi" mod isn't going to be that easy on the Excursion as some brilliant engineer at Ford decided to make the fog light relay internal to the CJB.
No blueish tint at all really. Just a really bright white light. Direct replacement. As long as they last I couldn’t be happier really.
Glad to hear you like them, I was down to Beamtech and Lightning Dark. The lumens, color temp were the same so the deciding factor was that LD has a 2 year warranty vs 1 year. I love them but was still curious about the beamtech's so it's good to know how they worked for you
I have these in my Excursion and they are AMAZING! They are so bright, the high beams probably light up the road 1/4 mile down, on lows they have a great pattern, good coverage and project way better than anything else I have tried. I can't believe how good they are!
BEAMTECH 9007 LED Headlight Bulb,Fanless CSP Y19 Chips 8000 Lumens 6500K Xenon White HB5 Hi/Lo Extremely Bright Conversion Kit of 2
After years of trying every "brighter Bulb" but not going so far as to blind everyone with those HID conversions, I am VERY happy with my Beamtech's ! !
Total credit to TheBoneskes for getting me to try these !
The Beamtech's are Very close to matching the OEM pattern and unlike other LED replacements, they have a VERY bright high beam. Close to that of my $250 Rigid D series Pro cubes.
Chevota_72 did you ever do the "Bambi" mod and if so, how? I see you mention it may be a pain with the CJB.
I have a 2004 Excursion with the same issue - turning my fogs on also turns on my high beams.

Sealight LED Fogs H10
I'd like to know about the fix for this, too. Looking to pick these up, but I need my foglights - use them all the time up here in the mountain country.
I should also mention that this link S&S Diversified provides an option to run LED Fogs and Low or High beams at the same time however it appears Canadian trucks and / or trucks running DRL (Daytime Running lights) may not be in scope for the fix. If that is the case; does anyone have a 'fix' for this issue for Canadian trucks and / or trucks running DRL (Daytime Running lights)?
I havent done the mod yet. It would still be possible with the relay built into the CJB but would require cutting wires. LT GRN/BLK wire coming out of socket 13 on connector C270A would need cut before splice S203 and connected to a good ground. This would make your fogs work on high and low beams. They no longer would shut off automatically when high beams were selected.
Wonder what it is about the bulbs mentioned in this thread (Beamtechs) that makes the high beam issue unique... I have LEDs in both my heads and fogs right now without the issue, but I'd like to have a fix for it BEFORE switching to the beamteach's.
