Hello everybody, like the title says I’d like some better lights on my Ex. First here’s a little back story. Sorry this might be long. Lol
When I first bought my Ex used it had really bright aftermarket lights that somebody added. The lenses were different almost blacked out I would say. The bulbs were glued into the modified lenses and the wiring was all hacked up. Also they didn’t have a bright/dim option so I removed all that junk and went back to stock. I picked up some stock style (aftermarket) lenses and Sylvania silver star bulbs. I also had to replace the bulb pigtails because they were hacked up when the high intensity kit was installed. Since I’ve returned it all to stock I haven’t been very impressed with them. To me they are about half as bright as my 2013 super duty or my wife’s Yukon.
Now finally my questions. Is there a direct replacement bulb (maybe LED) that is worth the money to install?
What else would my options be? I’m not against a kit that would make them brighter but I’m not cutting the lenses to install them and they definitely would need a high/low option. Oh and before I forget I’ve adjusted them lots and nothing seems to help. It just seems like a real lame yellow ish light. Thanks in advance

what did you end up with? Happy with them?

Another thing I didn't see mentioned is foggy lenses. Anything that is original on these trucks by now are probably a little bit foggy, hazy basically the plastic in the lenses had deteriorated. Just swapping in new oem style lenses will be an improvement. Putting a brighter bulb in a dim or foggy lens isn't going to do much

Just to finish up this thread I ended up getting the Beamtech H13 LEDs and couldn’t be much happier. Not sure how long they will last but wow are they awesome. No need for my light bar anymore. Merry Christmas everyone.

Just a heads up you won’t need anything brighter than these ones unless you’re strictly off road. I had to adjust them down a bit because people were flashing me on the highway.

Direct fit replacement and no problems so far, eh? Sounds like I'm gonna have to try these.

I see they are rated 6500K. Do the lights have that bluish tinge like HID's?

Very slight bluish tint. I have them in my Excursion and love them.

No blueish tint at all really. Just a really bright white light. Direct replacement. As long as they last I couldn’t be happier really.

Thanks for the recommendation.....these things ARE awesome! I have had them in for 2 weeks and even though they look like they are blinding to oncoming traffic....not one person has flashed me. The camera adds a bit more brightness, but you can see the difference....one is low beam, the other high. High beam adds more width to the light and you can see a hell of a long way down the road now....no more deer in my grill!
Stewart, as you can see, the light is pure white in color.

Low Beam

High Beam

I too have the Sealed Beam conversion on my Excursion.
Plenty of DOT approved LED conversions for the 6054 style rectangle headlights.

I was originally gonna do a 2005-2007 Front End upgrade, but I ended up doing this because I got my 2005-2007 grille off of an XL Work Truck. Took everything from the front end of that.

I have mine in my hands for install tomorrow. The instructions aren't the best so a couple of questions:

Are both lamp assemblies the same or is there a left and right?
Does the LED orientation matter? - the instructions say it does for everything but the H13's

Thanks!
