New member in hope to solve my trans issues. 07 6.0 185k miles. Had a reputable shop rebuild my 5r with a rev max kit and all new solenoids and temp sensor. Its commanding 3rd/5th at a stop intermittently, when you give it slight throttle it will jump back to first and shift as it should. When you give it heavy throttle it'll sometimes shift 1-2-3-4 seems to slip 3-5 and commands 4th. It threw a temp sensor code last week, replaced it and problem came right back. Rather not throw parts at it but almost convinced it's a tcm/harness issue. Other than that it hasn’t thrown any other codes. It’s been in and out of the shop the past 5 months and need this truck squared away asap. Any help is appreciated thanks.
I should've clarified that it sent a p0700 before it threw the temp sensor fault code. We've put two new oem sensors in it now. I did one earlier this summer before the trans went out. Then the shop got it to throw the same code.
Which sensors should I be monitoring? Possible from the torque pro app or only from IDS?
I use Forscan to monitor. EIther IDS or Torque Pro should work, too.
Look at pedal position, vehicle speed, engine speed, TRS input, trans turbine speed, trans intermediate speed, trans output speed, gr_cm (commanded gear,) and trans temp. I'm sure there are more, but that's what I thought of right now.
Update not fixed and no codes still. But it only happens when the truck is shut off for a couple minutes every time I run into the store. Seems like a pressure issue to me. A wiring issue would be more consistent I'd think. After the truck is at operating temp it shifts just about perfect in stop and go traffic. Otherwise it's super slow to downshift when coming to a stop, sometimes 2-3 seconds other times forever until you give it throttle. Also torque only provides me commanded gear, and trans temp.
Mark, finally got a p2703 code today. I'm thinking it's a harness issue, recently I've been having coolant spitting from the reservoir leaking right down into the connector for the trans harness. Will report back when I get a chance to repair/replace. Does this seem pretty likely the cause of my issue? It is studded so shouldn't be head gaskets but that's another topic
