I hope I am not repeating another thread but here goes. I have a 2007 F350 with a 6.0 L diesel with 140k miles. The other day it lost power and died. It ranked back and ran for the next day or so and then died again. This time it would not start back. I had it towed home. It was about due for filters so I replaced the upper and lower filters to no avail. I decided to do some additional troubleshooting. I checked the fuel pressure at the port of the upper filter in case the pump may be bad. I got 54 psi so it seemed the pump was good. I did the bubble test but did not see any bubbles come into the bowl. I checked the glow plug voltage and I have truck power. I checked the FICM voltage and it was about 48v so that does not seem to be the issue. My scan tool is toast so I am about at my wits end until I can get a new one. Does anyone have any other suggestions of things I can look for? The engine turns over good and sounds like it should (no loping or anything strange). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do some searching on a phone app download called "ForScan". It is a thorough code reader. You will also need the appropriate ELM327 OBDII adapter (WiFi for iOS and Bluetooth for Android). I like the BAFX brand - it works well.
Also, you might try running for a while w/ the ICP unplugged. If that doesn't help, then try it w/ the EBP unplugged.
If those don't help, then maybe the codes can identify something.
It is somewhat common for the IPR solenoid and/or the FICM to cause frequent engine shutdowns when they have electrical problems, so that would be the next things to look for IMO.
Crank no start? Never heard of it happening on a 6.0...haha
As stated, get some sort of monitoring device and see if your parameters meet the criteria in the 6.0 Tech Folder up top and post then here.
All we can do is guess without data and codes. Maybe a high pressure oil leak, maybe some crap came through the filter on your IPR and got stuck in the valve, holding it open so it can't build pressure. Maybe a chafed wiring harness - I had one like that and could give it slight tugs in different places and it would start, although it never died while driving.
OK - I finally managed to get an OBDII module and downloaded Forscan. I had really hoped I had found the issue but am pretty sure I jumped the gun and that cost me about $140. The codes below are from the scan on the truck. There is one code that points to the glow plug module (P0683) and after reading a few other blogs I thought I should replace the glow plug module. That did not resolve the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A glow plug module would not cause a running engine to stall. It may contribute to a longer crank before starting when cold.
Do a google search for Diesel Tech Ron videos on 6.0 no starts. Lots of good info. Need to find your injector pressures, synch, cranking rpm etc. all available with Forscan.
Get them, then post those numbers. You will get lots of feedback.
OK after checking everything I could and getting no negative results, I came back to the fact that I was getting "NO" reading whatsoever on the scan gauge for IPR so I bit the bullet and pulled the IPR. What a pain. After getting it off there is no screen at all. There are parts of the screen in the valve and a few pieces of the plastic that hold the screen. I intend to go ahead and replace the IPR but I have a couple of questions. (1) Since I was not able to find anything additional by fishing around in the IPR thread hole of the HPOP - am I OK to just replace the IPR? and (2) There are a bunch of IPR's on the market - I was told to go back with Motorcraft OEM, but even then there are conflicting part numbers for a 2007 6.0 - Can you shed some light on the correct part number? Thanks to all in advance !!
Watch DieselTech Ron's video on how to clean the IPR using a 6mm bolt and Brakleen. You can get a new screen kit (3C3Z-9H529-A) for the IPR. I just bought a new IPR for my 2006 and the part number was 5C3Z-9C968-CA. It will run somewhere between $200-300. I think these part numbers would fit your truck as well since the search for '07 parts pulled them up.

Just so you know, the IPR % duty cycle is a command from the PCM. The valve has no feedback on position.
