74 F100 4x4 steering column

What's the reason your whole column needs to be replaced? Most of the parts to repair your existing column can be purchased from some of the vendors that specialize in these trucks. You may even find a decent column from some of the members on this forum that sell used parts. Detailing more info on the issues with your column would help to give you an informed answer.

1974 F100 4WD Steering Column w/Garrison Power Assist P/S
This coupler contains a replaceable u-joint and by now, it's probably worn out and should be replaced.
You need to look at the pic of the column, but I need to know if your truck has A/T or M/T

. Thanks for responding! The column shaft “failed” right where the u-joint of the d-shaft bolts to the column shaft so I believe that both the steering wheel shaft and the d-shaft are damaged- plus the steering wheel shaft has play in the upper bushing. The d-shaft is rusted and will not contract and the rag joint no 1973/75 F100/250 4WD has a rag joint! is scary looking. I am going to cut the d-shaft out today and inspect the column shaft spline. Whatever it needs, my first choice for parts is through members of this site. The truck is an automatic so I’m unsure of how the column is removed. Thanks again.
U-joint shown as 3815 in pic. To remove the column, it has to be disconnected from the steering gear box.
NO rag joint: Lower steering shaft and coupler (3B676) attaches to the input shaft of the steering gear box (3504) with a clamp (3D699) and through bolt (384192-S).
I doubt you'll find another column and even if if you do, it probably won't be any better than yours, could be worse. You'd be better off to fix what you have.

Had to cut 3B676 u-joint to get assembly apart. Column shaft spline (3524) is worn almost as bad as the u-joint splines. I had to cut the u-joint because the u-joint was seized and could not get enough clearance to remove 3B676 assembly. It seems like the 3524 shaft was too small for the u-joint connection causing the splines to eventually slip and fail or the u-joint bolt was not tightened properly years ago. The 3524 splines are worn half way onto the shaft leaving unused spline available if an adjustable 3B676 assembly is available via Borgeson? I don’t know how someone got the u-joint mounted onto the spline “half way” but they did.

1976/79: The rag joint bolts to the flange of the one piece lower steering shaft and coupler, then attaches to the input shaft of the steering gear.
There cannot be a rag joint if the column contains a U-joint, because that last year the U-joint was used was 1975.

The u-joint looks exactly like the type that was used on driveshafts. See 3815 in post #5 pic.
There isn't a u-joint like this because this is the one piece lower steering column shaft & coupler used on 1976/79's.
So the column has been swapped or your truck is a 1976 or newer. See 3A525 & 3B676 in pic:

That’s it. Grille is split type. Title says 74 F100. I ordered a new shaft from Borgeson and can still use the column shaft. Thanks for all your help !
