Not a lot of room to play in here but enough.

Cutting the portion of the bracket not needed.

A little paint on the bracket and all is good.

I might get a black protective filter cover instead of the the red. I think red is a little loud. 🤦*♂️

looking good man! That last photo reminds me, my air cleaner is still held in place with the bungee cord I used to hold it up while the inner fender was out. I will make that bracket over the winter to hold the filter securely in place.

Why do most of you remove the old filter housing, Ive installed the 6637 on the ones at work using the OEM dust inhaler (air filter housing) with little to no modification.

Almost 8" across.

I thought about it but 7" side to side so the 6637 would've been jammed up agaist the plastic air filter housing and I wanted the entire filter sucking air not just 80%. The smaller airaid filter would have fit but I wanted the larger 6637. Plus I just copied Sous. 😆

Same here. Would be nice to gain 1/4" underneath it from the ridges on the housing tho

Good to hear it is running again.

There is a 10MB file size limit for uploads. Alternatively you can host the video on YouTube and link it here.

Great work and enjoy your improved 7.3L because it will run better now than the day it was new.

As for the 6637 mounting style, I had an AIS prior to the SXE/6637 install. I sold the AIS because I was concerned about air restriction with the SXE. Turns out that was the right call because the 6637/SXE combo is no louder than the billet wheel GTP38 and the AIS.

While molding and crafting the OEM rubber and CSD rigid intake, I felt it was best to use the large band clamp and leave the filter open air. I even had the OEM air box, but preferred the look and fitment of the open air 6637.

I got mine from Rockauto.com, but you should be able to pick one up at your local auto parts store.

I've only did two short trips in town to autoparts stores. Last night was the first time I accelerated over 15-20,000 rpm and the stock boot CSD sent with T4 kit didn't totally blow off but a section popped out. I heard a dull pop and knew what happened. New part should be in before my next trip. I wanted to tow my camper for a bit before I comment on it. So far ran and sounds great until I sprung a leak .

On my first test drive I had a crazy metallic vibration. I guess my exhaust lining up with new down pipe wasn't as perfect as I thought. So I put a piece of high temp hose and strapped it and vibration is gone. I'll try to weld some new braces/ brackets to keep it off in the long run.

I would say the clearance between the cross-member and my exhaust is 1/2" to 3/4", but they do not rub or come into contact with each other at all in any driving situation. My MBRP 4" was pretty close to the cross-member as well.

The small and inadequate turbo boot from CSD is my biggest complaint about the kit. At least one of the cheapest parts to swap and is on top of the engine is the problem child. You can see in my video how much I cut off the longer boot, but each install is going to be a bit different.

Measure 3 times, cut once, rinse and repeat until perfect.

Keep us updated sir!
