So you know when they say...Don’t drive angry. Well don’t work on your truck when you have had a rough day. So apparently, when I was going through all the connections and cleaning n such... I missed reconnecting the one that led from the alternator to the second lug on the solenoid on the fender.
The end had dropped down below the solenoid hiding from me when I cleaned all the connections.
Soooooooo. I got home today...scratched my head for a minute then decided to just get in there and do it. Traced the wire from the alternator across the motor, under the battery try up to the solenoid and as I grabbed the wire the end of it jumped out and waved at me like a sick game of hide and seek. Ugh....
Thanks for all the info everyone. even if it was an OOPS.... it still led me to tracking down my result of being distracted when I worked on my truck.
now batteries hold at 12.7 and the digital display I have in the power port shows 14.4 when running.
I've had my share of 'oops' moments. I'd rather overlook something than chase down another problem any day. Plus it's good info for someone in the future too.
