And the Raptor wheel with the paddle shifters just makes it that much easier and more fun with just the flick of a finger

I lock out 6th on my 6.2 all the time towing this but rarely on any other trailer. As mentioned above the Raptor wheel makes it nice!

I CAN SEE why you lock out the upper gears pulling that monster boat.

This is one reason why i read these forums.

i have a 2011 F350 that i got in 2010. i never knew about this gear lock out feature (and I do read the manuals; must’ve not registered).

tried it yesterday; worked nice

i don’t tow much, and tow/haul has always worked fine for me, so this lock out feature is probably something i would never really have a use for.

on the flip side, i did find the secret compartment where Ford puts a gold bar inside new vehicles......

Well just this morning wife took a trip with me to the tractor dealer in Paige. Lots of up and downs from Shiner on up via hwy95 to hwy 290 to Paige.
Using the tow/haul mode it kept shifting to 6th during hill descents. I was talking to myself (Sh don't tell wife , OK?lol), and was wondering the same thing.
So now when I go pick up tractor will use the minus function. Will monitor the performance on the return trip.
