I replaced my rusty vacuum reservoir about a year ago on my 1994 F-150 I6 with a new plastic one. However, I looked under the hood this week and saw that it had imploded! Why did this happen and what kind should I buy to keep this from happening.
Kinda looks like when my friend used a 2L soda bottle for a vacuum reservoir. It worked OK till engine bay heat soften the plastic up and there's the end result.
2X on the heavy duty factory plastic dual chamber version from junkyard. Make sure you get the hose connector for it too. The one I got has a built in check valve in it.
