Electrical issues again

Crystal is acting up again.
When I bought her the low beam on passenger side was out, the wipers did not work, and some of the gauges did not work.
I had redone all of the battery cables and grounds, replaced the headlights.
After that the wipers and gauges started to work also.
Now months later the passenger side low beam is out again and the wipers and gauges stopped working again.
I had not driven at night so I wasn't even using the head lights I only turned them on after the wipers stopped working.
I have no ideal why or when the low beam went out.
I checked all of the grounds but this time it did not help.
I decided to put relays in for the headlights but I don't want to replace the head light until I figure out why it burned out when I hadn't even used them.

Are you sure the headlight is burned out? You can check it with a meter set on rx1. One terminal is common, one terminal is the low beam and the other terminal is the high beam. Put the meter between the low terminal and the common, you should get a reading on the meter.

The wipers and gauges not working sounds like the famous problem all these trucks have. The ignition switch is not returning to the proper position after starting. With the truck running, and the wipers not working, lightly wiggle the keyswitch a little bit and see if the wipers start working.

Dave,
The low beam is burned out I tested with a meter.
I also jiggled the key switch
Every time I drive this truck something breaks
I bought her to drive in winter and to haul loads but I get worried driving the gas station and back.
I am getting frustrated, but not ready to give up.
It looks like I will have to replace the steering box soon PS is leaking a lot now.

So, totally normal then.

Seriously though, that tends to happen for a while, but as you work through the different systems over time to get everything back into spec, replace parts etc., eventually you'll have a tough, reliable truck.
