I recently picked up this 88 460 4wd. It used to be an automatic but now it's a manual. I don't know what all I'm looking at here, so please help me. I think I'm missing a vacuum like some where, cause it's running rough. When I first start it, it runs perfect for a few seconds then I have to pump the gas to keep it going for about 15 seconds then it idles ok. But running, it's rough.
You have missing lines at the TAB,TAD and EVR solenoids. But first some info is needed.
Did you or the PO put the manual in? We need to know what kind of automatic was in there. Look on the driver door for your sticker that has a (TRANS CODE) and post that letter. Did you change the computer or do you know. Has it been running ok with the manual until recently or has it always been this way? These answers should help along with any history that may help also. Code is K. I bought this truck like this. I do know that the guy that put it in had a full donor truck for all the manual parts. One would think he used the computer but who knows.

Reason: Spelling
Code K is a C6 Ford Transmission. If it was an E it would be computer controlled and perhaps could cause the computer to be confused with the manual. With the C6 originally and now a manual I am not sure if the transmission comes into play with the computer which could effect a lot of things. Currently the vacuum lines should be on a diagram on a sticker under the hood. I would check them all and see what is there and what is missing. The three parts on the bracket in the center of the first picture are the parts currently missing vac lines. You can see the nipples where the lines goes.

I've only had her for a couple weeks. Ran rough the whole time. It was used on a farm for the last 8 years. Regular care and maintenance where not a part of that farm.
Let's run diagnostic codes and see what comes up. Even if you don't have a check engine light you can still have codes that can lead to your issue. In the video below he uses a jumper to test. You can just use a paperclip to do it. If you can let the truck idle to operating temperature you should do so before you run the test. Run the Key On Engine Off test KOEO. Let us know what codes you get.
Look for something like this under the hood... it may be covered in dirt.
If you can't find that, do a little google searching for the one for your truck.
Check that the EGR valve (if it's still hooked up) is not stuck open and and also check that there's a line running to the Fuel Pressure Regulator and that it's working properly.
If the EGR is getting straight vacuum without the vac solenoid hooked up (which I can see is disconnected) then it's open all the time and your truck will run like crap.
The person who gelded all the vac lines removing the emissions equipment may have disabled the FPR too thinking it was emissions related, when it's actually needed for the FI.

I don't have that sticker under the hood. I've searched a good bit for a diagram, but I can't find anything conclusive. And when I think I've found the right one, I can't even read the darn thing.

I thought i'd try it while it was still cold, so I could also search around for the vacuum stuff. I think i have it, but I'm not sure. From the video, the (1) indicates a space or pause in the codes. In that case, the first part of the test I got a 3 2 8. The second part seemed to go on for ever and I'm not sure I even got it all, but it was 8 2 8 5 8 4 3

I am pretty sure you are only going to have two digit codes. The newer trucks have 3 digit codes.best thing to do is hook it up get in there and give it a try
