Okay just went out and changed out the ignition tumbler with the new assembly, this new one has the non transponder keys. Cranked her over and she fired right up! So my truck does not have any kind of Anti-Theft system on it. The confusing part is where that key came from in the first place...🤔
Yeah but those would all be the newer body styles. 96 was the last year for the OBS F-150, 97-98 F-250 was either OBS or Ford also used the new 97+ F-150 chassis and added 6 lug wheels, 3/4 suspension and some other stuff to make it an "F-250"
No OBS trucks had PATS. They did have an optional theft deterrent, but it wasn't PATS (chip key system).
OP's truck is 97 250, you see his key? That PATS or RAPS?
they actually made 7 lug F150 7700(97-08). The 7700 stood for 7700lbs GVW, all the badges on the truck said F150. The 7-lug trucks were basically what you got if you ordered an F150 with the snowplow prep package, 10.25" rear, 4.10 gears Take a look at the tailgate on an F150 with seven lugs, and it will say 7700 right under the F150 badge
my buds truck, 97 7 lug F150 replacing pads 3 weeks ago
