Yes, of course. That's not the premise of the OP, though, as he allowed himself to get in a position where he only had ONE. That situation requires one to take either the "correct" measures of getting more and re-programing all of them with an appropriate scan tool or equivalent or to take alternate action to get by. He chose the second action.

Be aware here that they have to be two different and unique coded keys and one cannot be a clone of the other. Using a cloned key would be the equivalent of using the same key twice.

Yep, you are right 8 unique coded keys. But you can have as many cloned keys as you want? This is covered in the sticky:

A clone key gives you a second key with the same CODE as the original.. The CLONE will start the truck using the original code number.. It can NOT be used as a second key to program additional keys... Sometimes the CLONE cost as much as getting a new key and doing it RIGHT.
