Window regulator gear ratio??

It has come to my attention that while my drivers window in my 65 F100 takes approximately 4.5 turns of the crank to raise or lower the window, the passenger side needs only three cranks to do the same job. Anybody know what's going on with that?

Left side gets far more usage, causes the gear teeth to wear down.

I can see how that might cause a skipping situation. Lord knows I've repaired or replaced plenty of worn out regulators.
These are definitely not the same. Is there a cross reference regulator with a different ratio? Passenger car application maybe?

Same R/L window regulators: 1961/66 F100/1100, 1963/69 N/NT500/1100, 1967/69 F800/1000.

Passenger Car window regulators of any year will not work on a truck.

You got me curious, so I checked my 66 window cranks. Left and right are the same, three turns plus some change on both doors.

I counted this morning. 3.25 turns on passenger side and just shy of five on drivers. Doesn't slip skip or grind, works great, just an extra turn and a half.

Mystery solved

I pulled the lower door panels off to put some dynamat in the doors and looked at the regulator to see what the deal is with the difference in the left and right. Sure enough, there is bright gold chromate playing and a sticker with numbers on the driver's window regulator. Aftermarket parts.
So I installed the sound deadening, greased anything that moved, and buttoned it up.

Cool Beans!
Thunderkiss, did you happen to recall if the sticker had an aftermarket source name or just numbers?
Interesting that the aftermarket changed the crank ratio from 3.25 to 4.5 hand crank turns. Maybe the 4.5 revolutions produces less bind in the gears?

Regulator

This is all it had on it
I didn't read the sticker but it's not hard to get to.
But for my money I would call up Regulator Roy, he has NOS regulators for American vehicles. Just Google Regulator Roy. He's a good ol boy up in New Jersey

C1TZ-8123200-B Right & C1TZ-8123201-B Left .. Window Regulators / Obsolete

Passenger Car window regulators of any year will not work on a truck.
Edit: There are 4 right sides available NOS, no one has the left side.
