01 Window Problem
Need help on repairing drivers side window problem. Have 01 Ranger XLT with electric windows. Problem is that the window stops about an inch and a half before all the way up. (Just makes a clicking noise after that and doesn't move.) Any help would be much appreciated.

Id take the door panel off and check the window regulator and gear, it sounds like it may have jumped a few teeth. Its kinda hard to explain without pictures, but they have a kinda cresent moon shaped gear that meshes into the track the window rides on, and when you roll the window up, the moon gear rotates up or down, therefore moving the window up or down. The gear only has so far it can go, so when it gets to the end of its stroke, thats it, it wont go any further. If you can get in there and, with the window rolled up as far as it will go, loosen the regulator enough to disengage it from the moon gear and slide the window all the way up, and then tighten everything up.
