Disk brake conversion

Hello all,

After 5 years of driving my 65 F250 I have finally reached a breaking point where a single master cylinder and 4 wheel drums are just not cutting it any more. I've had a complete set of front I-beams from I think a 76 or so 8 lug F250 sitting in my back yard for years and I want to get them swapped into my truck. They are single piston, and I also have the proportioning valve. My question is what other parts will I need? I know I will need a new dual master cylinder and the calipers will need a rebuild as well as new rotors and pads, but what else will be required? Linked below is a picture of the I beams when I got them as well as how the truck is sitting now.

Thank you for your help!

You're going to need steering linkage that goes with those spindles, and that will require a different gearbox, so you might as well swap to power steering at the same time.

The tie rods on the original linkage install from the bottom like this:

Thank you friend! My truck currently has power steering, it was swapped in before I got the truck. I think the truck was restored in the early 90s but the previous owner let it go to pot. I can snag a picture so you can see what the linkage looks like.

Looks like single pot master cylinder. I would upgrade to a dual with a 8"dual diaphragm brake booster and replumb the whole truck.

First let me say I have not done this swap so I have no personal experience with it. That being said, since your spindles use the early style tie rod ends, I'm going to say it probably has the '71 and earlier pitman arm before the geometry changed. You should be able to swap out the pitman arm from any '73-79 with power steering and you will also need all the steering linkage to go with it.
Edit; As Christmas pointed out, you will have to switch to a dual MC and a proportioning valve once you have a disc/drum combination, and replacing all the 50+ year old steel lines is a good idea.

Thanks guys! I managed to snag the proportioning valve off the parts truck when I initially harvested the I beams for this swap. Where would I be able to find the pitman arms, would I need another parts truck or could I get them off rockauto? Also I was planning on swapping to a dual master cylinder, I have already had one of these single master cylinders fail and let's just say that was not the most pleasant experience.

Now that you are into is this far, it might be a good idea to replace the kingpins in the new I-beams. If they are in good shape, this may not be necessary, but it saves some maintenance later.

It has been my experience that all your going to need are I-beams, spindles, rotors, backing plates, calipers for core and brake line to frame brackets (important). Everything else should be new or remanufactured.

Where would I be able to find the pitman arm?
There's only one.

Thank you everyone, I appreciate all the feedback greatly! Numbers Dummy, do you know where I could find the part number on the pitman arm? I want to check which one I have on my truck. There's a chance it's been switched over already when the truck was retrofitted with power steering back in the 90s

There is no part number on any Pitman Arm. Pitman Arms have an ID number cast onto them.

Look at the arm on your truck, if it's D2TA-3590-BA .. it's correct (see post #10).

ND is right, no numbers. If it says Power Steering, your good to go. I tried finding the hose brackets with no luck right now. If your serious about getting this done find these brackets before proceeding. If you have the ability to fab a pair up your good too go. Everything else is readily available.

Not so!
You need to get the ID number off the arm, because there's another P/S Pitman Arm (marked: D2TA-3590-FA) for 1971/79 F350, 1973/79 F250 2WD with 8,100 lbs. GVWR
