Mostly codes and smoke. Didn't really even notice power problems with pulling. If I would open the windows in my neighborhood the week I did the teardown I would hear a bit of odd clacks and clangs (dont know how to express it) when coming off the throttle. I think it was kinda like the stuff trapped in the top end would get into the upper movements of the motor and cling on the valve cover. It was enough for me to say Im parking this boy till I get into it a bit.
Did it all with normal tools everyone should have except for purchasing a injector removal tool and a torque wrench. Plus the easy out extractor thing when my exhaust bolt broke.
I got the Haynes manual 1 year sub for the f250 of my year and just followed it to the "T"
Really can't recommend it enough. It was great.
Yes all cab on and it wasn't too bad except for the turbos. They are a HELLBEAST to get off with the cab on but I had the luxury of using another vehicle so I took my time.
I did buy new turbo clamps to replace the ones I beat to death taking off.
same problem your truck I got down to the carnage over the weekend
