Where do you get a quality gas cap, the ones from the auto parts store only last 6 months. I have bought two in the last year only for the rubber gasket to crack up and fall off. Also the grommets for the fuel neck are junk I think this one came from lmc might be 3 years old.

I like that look much better....just a shame they couldn't get the backspacing right on those wheels for our application.

But if I wanted slots - those are what I would get!

 

WOW what an amazing job, so glad to see another saved... I had this exact color combo on a 73 F-100 when I was in high school, dont see it very often super glad you are leaving the paint .. and the 5 slot deep dish always look great on the dent sides.

ordered wheels from summit racing.

 

Finally got around to swapping out the transmission, I had a rebuilt one out of my 68. I had to swap tail shaft and shift linkage. But it all went together good and is now working great. No longer have to wait 10 minutes for it to go in drive when it is cold.

 

Installed a new modulator on the trans, old one was leaking fluid through it. Also shifting earlier and smoother now.

 

Man that looks great.

Awesome thread. But, now I'm confused. Did Vabow sell the truck or something? What happened to the split-rims and slots? What's going on with this truck?

 

Vabow put the slots on the 68. I am his dad we build them together. I am painting bed on the 76 . These wheels came off his 07 when he did super duty conversion they have wrong bolt pattern for super duty axels . We just finished the 71 with the service body.
