Hi All. I have a 2004 6.0 excursion. I was headed from LA to Tahoe and had driven about three hours. We took some time off to rest and eat and were were back on the road. About 30 minutes later, I get the check engine light on the dash. I check for codes on the torque app and see 3.

I just got the excursion back from gettin BPD EGR cooler, BPD re out air to oil cooler and replacing a leaking icp and pigtail. What can I do to troubleshoot on my end? Any help is appreciated.
Check electeical connectors for inject and egr valve ebp
Thanks. I checked the electrical connection to the EGR and it looks good. I'm not sure which are the electrical connectors for the injectors though. Is there any readings to check on the torque app?
There no smoke and it drives fine no tough idle or anything.
*UPDATE
So I cleared to codes up and drove it around town a bit and no codes popped up. The next day I drove it to Tahoe (from Rancho Cordova) and so far no codes. I then returned home to Los Angeles and still no codes. I did call the shop that did the work for me and I was told that since the engine is an early 03 that the calibration software (or something) is picky and just to keep an eye on it. So far it has ran great. On the Tejon Pass, oil didn't get higher then 190 I beleive and coolant was about 205 the max, so i'm happy with the work so far. I did see that the Snow Plow fan kicks on sooner and spins more then the stock one.
* 2nd Update
This passed weekend I drove to Sacramento from Los Angeles. On the way back I got the check engine light and scanned it. This time I got two of the three codes I got last time..
P0281 powertrain
Cylinder 7 contribution/balance
P0401 powertrain
Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected
I'll get the mechanic to take a look at it and see if he can't run a diagnostic.
Hi Ruben,
So im in the same boat. Just did EVERYTHING BPD except air to oil cooler, including FICM. Im now experiencing the 0401 code about every 3 to 400 miles after clearing codes multiple times.
I am in So. Cal as well, just curious if you were ever able to get control of the code. Also curious who did your BPD mechanic work.

thx in advance!!
Hey Jdubbb. I had the work done by domestic diesel. I cleard the codes a couple of times and then they just never came back. Maybe it was the car programming getting used to the changes, im not sure. But it hasen't come back on.
Hope it clears up for you. Keep me updated if the codes keep going or they clear up. Im curious what would resolve it.
ok great, i hope it stops. i had my work done at Advanced Deisel in San Pedro. Truck runs beautifully except for code, but no change in engine power. I will keep you posted. What city is your mechanic?

Hope it works out for you. They're located in Chino, CA (https://domesticdiesel.com). I hope I don't run in to the codes again too.
