I have a 2000 F350, I see a lot of post for shift levers being loose but, mine is the opposite it seems abnormally tight. It shifts into place fine just seems tight , is there a bearing in column or lube point to address this, thanks!

Disconnect the cable at the transmission and see if the the shifter is still too stiff to operate. If it operates freely now, most likely the transmission-mounted shift lever position switch is gummed up internally. Remove it and test, replace if it's the cause of the problem.

It's a neutral safety switch/shift position sensor, I just changed the one on my 03 Super Duty. Sometimes they can be a real pain in the a..oops no bad language. Bad Toad!
