So somewhat random, but can anyone identify what this particular part is that is mounted just below the AC compressor, above the PS pump? About 6” round with a 1.5” round almost cap looking part. Has the four dimples on it.
Really what I am also questioning is that round cap part rattles and vibrates up and down, can hear from inside the truck. Was not sure if that was normal as I don’t recall hearing it in the past, but not sure when it started if it did.
If you replace it make sure you install studs, theres a bolt that is very difficult to remove and install (you have to remove the pulley) with studs no need to remove the pulley.
They have the same thread as a 5.4 2v exhaust studs and work great, thats what I used.

Bugger, seems the pulley is running fine, which is what a lot of people saw when failed, so at least have that going for me. Otherwise yeah, that little round cap just vibrates/bounces up and down like crazy and can hear it rattling while sitting idling.
